Seasonal job hiring is in full swing
Each year, seasonal job hiring begins in October and continues through the end of the year to account for the holiday shopping rush. According to Challenger, Gray & Christmas, hiring for the 2016 retail hiring this holiday season is forecast to remain unchanged from a year ago, when seasonal employment in the sector increased by 738,800 during the final three months of the year. In 2015’s job gains were 1.4 percent lower than the previous year, when retailers added 749,100, according to employment data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
There are seasonal jobs out there, though there may be more competition this year. If you’re looking to make some cash this holiday season, consider submitting your applications early.
